There is no single timeline for every learner. Your progress depends on your starting level, weekly class schedule, attendance, revision habits, exposure to Japanese and target proficiency.

A beginner can build a foundation through N5, but reaching intermediate or advanced Japanese requires continued study across multiple levels. Class hours should therefore be treated as guided instruction, not as the total amount of practice required to master a level.

Use Japanese regularly between classes. A simple weekly routine can include:
